Hyde Park Medical Centre has introduced PRIVATE FEES at the practice.
All consultations will incur a private fee unless otherwise advised for certain circumstances.
Private billing means patients will pay a fee for services rendered. This includes an out-of-pocket gap fee payment, on top of any Medicare rebates.
All appointments must be paid for by the patient at the time of visit (cheques cannot be accepted).
A Medicare rebate is available for most charged consultations if patients hold a valid Medicare Card.
However, rebate from Medicare is subjected to Medicare Ruling. Rebates can take 1-2 business days to appear in patient’s nominated bank account details with Medicare.

The above Bulkbilling Services are for Medicare Cardholders (Excluding RHCA) with appointments between Monday-Friday 9am–4:45pm (P/H excepted)
Telehealth consultations attract a private fee. The standard fee starts from $77.85 for patients with a valid Medicare card with a booking between Monday-Friday 9am to 4:45pm (except P/H).
For consultations outside of these hours, and for non-Medicare card holders, the standard fee starts from $92.85. This fee needs to be paid at time of booking and is non-refundable.
If the consultation is longer than 15 minutes, further fee will apply. This will be $168 for up to 30 minutes and $268 for up to 45 minutes. Rebate from Medicare is subjected to Medicare Ruling.
Overseas students, with a valid OSHC insurance cover at the time of consultation and who satisfy the telehealth criteria set by OSHC insurance, will only be charged a $35 gap at the time of booking.
Bookings outside of Monday-Friday 9am–4:45pm or on Public Holidays will attract higher fees. The remaining amount will be directly billed to the insurance company.
Please telephone at least 2 hours in advance for GP bookings or 24 hours for specialist bookings if you are unable to attend your appointment to cancel or reschedule.
If you fail to attend an appointment without notice, a non-attendance fee may apply.

The doctors at Hyde Park Medical Centre pride themselves in providing high quality health services and medical access to our community.
With rising operational costs and poor Medicare funding, the introduction of private fees is necessary to allow the doctors to continue providing this service.
The ongoing support from the community is appreciated.
This practice has a zero-tolerance policy towards abuse and aggression. Please treat our staff and doctors with respect and courtesy.
